    You are welcome to come to the conference and enjoy our community.


    You can register for individual events so you can attend one event or as many as you feel drawn to. Attend the whole weekend with our special weekend pass!



    Membership


    We appreciate everyone's support towards the mission of WOW and hope you will become a member! We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and your contribution is tax-deductible. Memberships begin at $35. Please go to Membership for information.



    Registration


    You can register for individual events or weekend packages.


    Pre conference registration is available online, by phone and mail. Please go to the Registration Information page for full information and links to specials.


    Registration will be available on site during the conference at North Seattle Community College. See the Registration Information page for schedules and further information.



    Scholarships & Work Exchange Availability


    Scholarships and/or Work Exchange to the 2011 Women of Wisdom Conference are available to those needing financial assistance, or for those who would like to give of their time and support.


    We ask that all women who desire to participate in WOW, willingly offer their time and skills as an exchange for their participation. There are a variety of jobs that need to be done in order for the Conference to run smoothly, these jobs are filled 100% by volunteers. Your time and energy are relied upon and once your Work Exchange assignment is agreed upon, we ask that you abide by your commitment and notify the volunteer coordinator of any changes right away. Scholarships are available for those who are unable physically to help out at the conference, and need the financial assistance.

    WOW Volunteer Letter

    WOW Volunteer Application


    We encourage you to send in your application, along with your workshop registration form, as soon as possible. Work shifts begin the week of January 17th. Submission of an application does not guarantee a position.

    Angel Volunteers: Do you have extra time that you would like to offer to WOW? An Angel Volunteer is a woman who offers up her gifts and time with the true spirit of volunteerism. If you would like to be an Angel please send your availability to the volunteer coordinator or stop by the Information Desk during the conference and let them know you’re a willing Angel.


    We will be providing child care on Saturday, Feb. 13th from 8:30 am to 5:00pm. Please reserve a space ahead of time so we have the necessary staff to manage the children. Contact the WOW office at 206-782-3363 for more information on any fees and to reserve your child's space.

    Scholarships


    We are pleased to be able to offer scholarships to those that need assistance. Scholarship money is made available through fundraising efforts and support from the Women of Wisdom community. Please take the time to answer a few questions on the scholarship application regarding your needs. Also, if you are able, please consider doing some work exchange toward this scholarship and also send us a Work Exchange application. For more details please see the scholarship letter.     Venue


    All events are at North Seattle Community College, 9600 College Way North, Seattle WA 98103.


    Opening ceremonies are Thursday, Feb. 17th in the cafeteria at 6:00pm, and are for women only.


    Thursday, Feb. 17th and Saturday, Feb. 19th, evening events begin at 7:00pm and are also held in the cafeteria. Doors open at 6:30pm.


    Friday, Feb. 18th, evening event begins at 7:00pm and is held in the theater. Doors open at 6:30pm.


    Friday’s workshop will be in the Education Building. All other Workshops are held in the College Center/Administration Building, which is on the west side of campus facing College Way. Enter on the lower level on the west side and watch for signs.



    Parking and Directions


    Directions and maps of the campus are available for North Seattle Community College at http://northseattle.edu/directions.


    Parking is free. Parking permits will be needed for those attending Yvonne Oswald’s workshop on Friday. The permits will be provided.


    There is disabled parking in the west parking lot, closer to the building entrance, in front of the college, facing College Way.



    Calling All Housing Goddesses


    Would you like to be a housing goddess this year for the Women of Wisdom Conference, and make it possible for someone from out of town to attend? Sharing your home with like-minded women is a great way to make new friends.


    If you are able to share your home with one or more women coming to the WOW 2011 Conference February 17-21, please e-mail wow_housing@yahoo.com. We will help match you with those looking for a place to stay.


    We encourage your earliest participation in this process, so that people coming from out of town can make their plans. Thank you, in advance, for your generosity in making it possible for someone to attend Conference.


    Looking for Housing?


    Contact wow_housing@yahoo.com if you are looking for a place to stay during the WOW 2011 Conference February 17-21, or if you would like to share a hotel room. Remember that the Hotel Nexus, which is right down the street from the college, has a special price of $82.50 per night for WOW conference goers. We may be able to match you with someone interested in sharing that cost, and making a new friend.


    Another option to consider is checking out www.couchsurfing.org where you have access to other people in the Seattle area. It has been recommended as a good source for housing, complete with references.We look forward to seeing you at the 2011 WOW Conference and enjoying the sense of community that springs forth from it.


    Conference Hotel package:


    Our conference hotel is Hotel Nexus, which offers breakfast, microwave, refrigerator, and free wired and wireless internet in every room.


    The hotel is located at 2140 N Northgate Way, less than ½ mile north of the college. Our conference rate is $82.50 plus tax per night.

    Shuttle service will be available for all days during the conference, Thursday, Feb. 17th through Monday the 21st. The shuttle will travel to the college in the morning and back to the hotel in the evening (afternoon on Monday).



    Concessions


    At North Seattle Community College we will have coffee, tea, water, and light snacks available for purchase on the 1st floor. Food is not allowed in the classrooms. Any food you bring should be eaten in the 1st floor lounge or in the cafeteria, when workshops are not being held there.



    Meals


    Meals are being provided by the fabulous local restaurant, Saffron Grill. Online ordering has ended. You may order meals on site at the registration desk, or at the beginning of your workshop for the next meal.

    • Chicken Caesar Salad - $11.50 (romaine lettuce, parmesan, anchovies, garlic croutons, chicken breast, traditional caesar dressing)


    • Saffron Salad - $7.50 (greens, tomato, apple, candied walnuts, blue cheese, champagne vinegrette)


    • Tabbouleh Salad - $7.50 Vegan (parsley, tomato, cuke, onion, bulgar wheat, dressing)


    • Vegetable Curry - $10.75 Vegan (traditional brown curry w/tomato, onion, fresh herbs)


    • Lamb Vindaloo - $13.00 (lamb, curry in sauce of wine vinegar, ginger, potatoes)


    • Gyros Plate (with beef) - $10.75 (marinated beef sautéed w/ onion served w/ lettuce, hummus)


    • Falafel Plate - $9.75 Vegan (fava beans, chickpeas, parsley, spices, cuke, tomato,tahini, pita bread)


    • Ciabatta Chicken Sandwich - $10.75 (grilled breast, lettuce, onion, tomato, pickle, mayo w/ fries)

    Goddess Market


    Women artisans will display their handcrafted, diverse products for sale at the conference. Plan on extra time before and after your events to enjoy this visual delight and visit their booths on the 1st floor of the College Center Building at North Seattle Community College. This is a great opportunity to support our women artists!


    The market is open Saturday, Feb. 19th and Sunday, Feb. 20th, 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Monday, Feb. 21st, 8:30am - 1:00pm.

    The Temple


    Experience a private appointment with our professional Psychics, Healers, and Body Workers Saturday, Feb. 19th, Sunday, Feb. 20th, and Monday, Feb. 21st. Exact hours will be posted at a later time.


    Please allow extra conference time so you can indulge in a gift for yourself with these gifted psychics, healers and body workers. The Temple is on the 1st floor of the College Center Building at North Seattle Community College.

    On Site Counseling Services


    Throughout the conference, our professional counselors are available for guidance, crisis intervention, and processing your emotions. Sign up for an appointment at the registration/WOW information desk.


    We welcome counselors to share their gifts at the conference and provide assistance to anyone in need. If you are interested, please contact WOW at wow@womennofwisdom.org.



    Continuing Education Credits


    Certificates of attendance are available. There is a fee of $10 per class to receive the CEUs. You can pay for the certificate at your workshop, please ask the workshop facilitator for assistance.


    Special Notice for LMPs, LMTs and RNs: If you are taking one of Caroline Sutherland's workshops (Develop Your Medical Intuition and The Body Knows ~ Healthy Aging Secrets) you may earn CEU's.


    The cost is $10 per workshop.  You can purchase at the workshop. In order to receive this CEU you will need to have your RN, LMP, or LMT license number.


    Networking areas


    You are welcome to bring your flyers, brochures, and business cards to set out on the networking tables on the 1st floor.



    Child Care


    Child care is available on Saturday, Feb. 19th only from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm


    Fees:

    Sliding scale for one workshop (up to 4 hours of child care):
    $5 - $10 for one child
    $10 - $15 for two children


    Financial assistance is available – No one will be turned away for lack of funds. We encourage you to exchange child care for one workshop, by helping us out in the child care room for another workshop!

    Conference Art Impressions

    Silent Auction


    Many of our artisans, psychics, healers, body workers, presenters and others donate their services and products for our Silent Auction. Proceeds benefit Women of Wisdom and our mission to empower other women. Please visit the Silent Auction during the conference and bring home a memoir from the conference.
