All workshops are open to young women 13 years old and above, except as noted on the individual workshops. Parental permission forms are required if attending without a parent/legal guardian. Download a parental permission form here.

The workshop will be held at the North Seattle Community College in the College in the Education Building. The evening events will be held at Seattle First Baptist Church.
We are striving for a fragrance-free event to accommodate attendees with asthma and chemical sensitivities (and to improve awareness for all people regarding fragrance chemicals). Thank you for not wearing perfume, cologne, or other scented products.

Jean Bolen will take us deeper into themes introduced in the keynote lecture. The Sacred Feminine, the Grail and goddesses are symbols and psychic realities with depth and meaning. Cut off from sources of meaning, without a connection to the feminine principle, the inner landscape of the soul becomes a wasteland. The wounded Fisher King and the abduction of Persephone are metaphors for depression, alienation, life-threatening illness, and addictions on a personal level, that are related to the loss of creativity, spontaneity, and love. These are also metaphors for what ails the planet. We will listen to Jean tell stories, participate in a guided meditation and a circle experience. Jean Shinoda Bolen, M. D, is a psychiatrist, Jungian analyst, and an internationally known author and speaker who draws from spiritual, feminist, Jungian, medical and personal wellsprings of experience. She is the author of Like A Tree: How Trees, Women, and Tree People Can Save the Planet, The Tao of Psychology, Goddesses in Everywoman, Gods in Everyman, Ring of Power, Crossing to Avalon, Close to the Bone, The Millionth Circle, Goddesses in Older Women, Crones Don't Whine and Urgent Message from Mother. She is a major advocate for a United Nations 5th World Conference on Women, a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. a former clinical professor of psychiatry at the University of California at San Francisco. She is in two acclaimed documentaries, the Academy-Award winning anti-nuclear proliferation film Women—For America, For the World, and the Canadian Film Board's Goddess Remembered.

There is a hidden fact that rising of women today is also resulting in a re-thinking and re-development of human nature.
Why? Because for a new world to be born we have to bring a new mind to bear. Critical to this is the rich mind style of women that has been gestating in the womb of preparatory time, lo, these many millennia. Rising with it can be a tremendous change in how we do things. The emphasis here being on process rather than just on product, on making things cohere, relate, grow. The relationships between people and things becomes more important than final outcome. The world within becomes as important as the world without.
