Ongoing All-Women Classes & Circles at WOW

Are you wanting to explore your deeper connections to spirit, rhythm, dreams, mothering, leadership, art or writing? Join a supportive group of women that meet monthly and share your knowledge and desire for growth. We all have knowledge, stories and gifts to share and this fits our mission of empowering the dreams and spirit of women.

Cybele's Circle- Women of Wisdom Drum and Dance
Third Sunday of the month

(Drum circle is not meeting for the summer 2007 and will resume in the fall.)

Improvisational drumming, hand percussion, creative movement and voice in supportive community. Experience not required. Drums and hand percussion are provided, or bring your own. $5 - $20 donation requested to cover rent and support WOW.

Celebrate the Solstice with the power of rhythm, drumming and movement for self-expression, healing and wellness. Nurture your connection with yourself, friends & family, humankind, and the Earth through the rhythms that unite us all. Enjoy the proven health benefits of group drumming, including stress reduction, lasting mood improvement, and a strengthened immune system. Our circle is named after the ancient Mesopotamian Goddess, Cybele, whose figure holding a frame drum is the oldest depiction of a drum yet found in archeological records worldwide. We are reclaiming women's heritage as the original keepers of the rhythms!

Whether you're newly curious about exploring drumming and rhythm, or have drummed for years, Cybele's Circle is for you. We provide guidance for beginners to feel comfortable with the instruments, and lead centering in physical awareness through breathing and movement. Then we help the group connect into satisfying musical grooves. From there, the magic of the rhythmical flow takes over!

Women’s Spirit Circle

In the sacred container of a circle, we sing, share our stories, create ritual, and journey to the Feminine Face of the Divine for wisdom and enlightenment. Women from all backgrounds and experience levels are encouraged to attend any circle that calls to them.

This circle is currently on hiatus. We usually meet on the 2nd Saturday of the month starting at 1:00 p.m. Circles end when we feel complete, however, we will end no later than 4:00 p.m.
