“Ground Yourself in Mother Earth - Dance and Body Movement” with Fatimah D. Gordon
Fatimah is a fruit-hearted cultural educator who helps move women back into their sacred bodies. As an African ritual dancer of over 26 years, she has mastered the movement patterns of ancient rhythms. She has celebrated dance previously with Women of Wisdom and is highly acclaimed. She looks forward to celebrating with you.

12:30-2:30 PM - “Sustainable Living: Why and How You can Make a Difference” - Carol H Pease
Carol Pease is an oceanographer and meteorologist. She worked for 25 years on Arctic and Antarctic sea ice and climate-change research for the Arctic Ice Dynamics Joint Experiment of the University of Washington, the Pacific Marine Environmental Research Laboratory of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in the US, for the Northern Norway Forecasting Office of the Norwegian Weather Service, and for the Japanese government’s oceanographic research program. She has degrees in mathematics from the University of Miami, and physical oceanography and atmospheric sciences from the University of Washington. Since retiring from active field research, she has worked for a number of non-profits, helping them with technical development. Carol co-developed the Step It Up Seattle (April) 2007 campaign, complete with a 1400- person march from Pioneer Square to Myrtle Edwards Park and an sustainable living fair following at the park.
In January 2007, Carol took The Climate Project training class from the Honorable Al Gore and has presented his talk, talks about climate-change effects on the ocean and talks about eating local and presentations about how your seafood affect the ocean to a variety of church and civic groups. Carol will present four half-hour talks with handouts and time for questions on each of these topics.
3:00-5:00 PM - “Gardening in Concert With Mother Earth (Sustainable gardening is fun and easy!)” with Roberta Sherwood
Roberta is a graduate of the Seattle Master Composter/Soil Builder program, taught through Seattle Tilth. She has been a volunteer for MC/SB for several years and is a resource for others who may wish to participate. Roberta has been active in Women of Wisdom and currently serves on the WOW Council. Come learn about worm bins, various composting styles and strategies, how to test your soil, watering strategies and "your choice." Have access to MC/SB training materials and resources. Learn about the Natural Gardening Hotline, a great resource year around.
